Al/Alex/Alexzandra (she/her) is a freelance Talent Development Executive under the banner of Shy Films. She is working to create welcoming and equitable spaces for film talent and projects to be nurtured and thrive. She works in script editing, project management, and film curation with partners, including cinemas, industry bodies, and independent filmmakers. She also serves as Festival Producer for The Short Cinema Film Festival held annually at Phoenix Cinema, Leicester.

Prior to going freelance, Alexzandra was a BFI NETWORK Talent Executive from 2018-2023, discovering and developing early-career filmmakers in the Midlands. There, she Exec Produced 35 short films and developed 19 features. Before this, she led the talent programme for Phoenix Cinema, lectured in Professional Practice in the UK Film Industry at De Montfort University, and, through Poppy Jack Productions, produced the family feature A Dozen Summers, which premiered on Netflix in 2021.

With a background in development, production, exhibition, and education, her career focus is accessibility in and to film. She is dedicated to lessening the gap between talent and audiences; creating space for bold, engaging, and innovative stories to be told and experienced. Additionally, she is an advocate for ethical grant-making with a demonstrable commitment to creative justice and environmental sustainability.

Ultimately, Alexzandra loves to see people collaborate, achieve and thrive and feels she has the knowledge and skills to connect people and nurture their stories.
